Taxi from Grande Prairie to Edmonton Airport

The Short Answer

We do run it, and it is a flat quoted fare rather than a meter — the drive is roughly five hours each way depending on the season and the highway. Book at least a day ahead, and tell us the flight time rather than the pickup time so we can work backwards from it.

How Long to Allow

Grande Prairie to Edmonton International is a long day. In good conditions the drive is around five hours. In winter, or with roadworks on Highway 43, it is longer, and we would rather set off early than watch you miss a flight.

Tell us when you need to be at the terminal and we will set the pickup from that. Getting this backwards — booking a pickup time and hoping — is how people end up sprinting through YEG.

Is a Taxi the Right Call?

Honestly, sometimes it is not. There are flights from YQU to Edmonton, and there are scheduled shuttle services. A taxi makes sense when there are several of you, when you have a lot of luggage, when the timings do not work, or when you simply want a door-to-door car and no connections.

We would rather tell you that up front than take a booking you regret. Call and we will give you the real number for your trip.

What the Fare Covers

One flat price agreed before you travel, for the car and the driver, door to terminal. No meter running in traffic and no surprise at the end.

  • Quoted and confirmed before the booking is taken
  • Door to terminal, with help for the bags
  • Return runs from YEG can be booked at the same time
  • Payment to the driver — cash, debit or credit
