A1 GP Cabs Ltd is a locally owned and operated taxi company serving Grande Prairie and the Peace Country. "Your #1 Choice, Every Time" is on the side of every car, and we would like you to hold us to it.
Grande Prairie is a working city. People need to get to a shift at a reasonable hour, to a flight out of YQU, to an appointment at the QEII, or home safely at the end of a night. A taxi company here is not a convenience — for a lot of people it is the transport plan.
That is the standard we hold ourselves to. Cars on the road twenty-four hours a day, a real person on dispatch rather than a queue, and drivers who know the difference between Crystal Ridge and Crystal Heights without asking the map.
We run trips across town, out to Clairmont and Sexsmith and Beaverlodge, and the long hauls down Highway 43 to Edmonton. We carry parcels, we wait through appointments, and we invoice businesses monthly so nobody is handing out cash for cabs.
How We Work
Local, and It Matters
The people answering the phone live here. They know which roads drift shut in a blizzard, which entrance at the hospital is closest to emergency, and how long the airport run really takes at 6am in January.
Licensed and Insured
Licensed by the City of Grande Prairie. Every driver is licensed and every vehicle is inspected and commercially insured. That is the floor, not the achievement.
We Remember Our Regulars
A lot of our work is the same people every week — hospital appointments, school runs, shift changes. Standing bookings mean you do not have to explain it every time.
We Show Up in the Cold
Anyone can run a taxi company in July. We keep cars on the road through −40, freezing rain and the long dark stretch between November and March.
